A freaking Q, that lingers inside the heads of young individuals and the answer is certainly not by kissing. It all depends on the fusion of male gamete i.e. sperm with the female gamete i.e. ovum. It sounds good in scientific sense but is over the head for non science background students. Most of the people are like, w.t.f does that even mean! So, no worries, I will get you there to the answer.
In a more simpler context, lets start from the term puberty. You all know what puberty is. It is the transitional phase when you become reproductively active i.e. your body undergoes changes to facilitate reproduction - the ultimate goal that every species are born to achieve. The changes are different for both the boys and girls and I won't be highlighting all the changes as I know you already have pubic hairs underneath and I am damn sure you are attracted to your opposite sex. So, that's it.
The next case is when you start dating and get laid with your partner enjoying the thrills of unprotected sex. Yes, you read it right, unprotected sex! This is where it all starts. You or your girl is reproductively active i.e. she has a monthly cycle of normal periods. Than suddenly one day you guys intentionally in an accidental manner go all the way without any protection and the sperm is thus released after the beautiful cream-pie experience. After which the lively sperm starts to loiter inside her searching for the egg i.e. ovum and for God forsaken reason you or your girl was in the middle of her period when you guys did it.
And bingo!
The ovum was released as it always does in the middle of the menstrual cycle. But, only this time it finds a sperm to screw her. These fusion between the two results in fertilization and you step in the first phase of pregnancy. Congratulations! You or your girl is now pregnant. Now you get it, don't you! Why it is always advisable to use safe and reliable precautions like 'condoms' before getting laid. It helps you avoid unwanted pregnancy as well as protects you from STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases).
But, you know what the urge to get as close as possible without any precautions is always tempting. So, I might have a solution for you; Read: What is the best time to have unprotected sex?
